Back in the early 80’s this H239-5010 was the 2nd Seiko I bought new. Can’t remember how much I paid for this watch. At that time I was working a lot on the water (dredging ships) and I did wear the watch while working. After very short time, maybe a few months, the bracelet was broken and the watch fell into the water….Then I forgot about this watch for years.
In 2008/2009 I had my first Seiko ever bought, serviced (the H601-5050) and got interested in vintage watches. So I visited some fora like this, and suddenly saw a picture of the H230-5050. I was like electrified: all at once I remebered I once owned that model. And then the ‘‘hunt’’ begun. After few months I could exchange a Seiko Military against a H239-500a (with te gold accents). But I was a little dissapointed: it was to much bling-bling. So I continued searching, and last week I could buy a H239-5050 via eBay in a splendid state!! Crystal as new, original bracelet, functioning like it should.
Now I did reach my quest…..what should i do now????
