the first digital watch manufactured by seiko to be exported out of the country only three other models were produced earlier for the home market O5LC,O5LCA,O6LC, these were produced slightly earlier but had to be completely dismantled to refit batteries,their case designs were not quite so pleasing to the eye. this model uses seikos 0624 module which has the worlds first six digit display.seikos 0624-5009 (OLC6A)remains probably the worlds most beautiful digital watch,having an almost liquid fluidity to its design. even the case back is beautifully sculpted. released in japan in 1974 with a price tag of 65000 yen ( thats £450 plus import taxes and vat in todays money)it was hugely expensive. uses seikos green lcd panel , two versions were produced,all steel (this model) or goldplated .now regarded to be unobtainable in this new unused condition,complete with double seiko boxes labels and hang tags.this one is from sept 75.
