RELEASED | 1974

1974. Very early LCD using dynamic scatter module (this particular module is very early and features flashing digits) from the company that invented the technology. This is where not only the LCD watch but also laptop monitors, LCD TV's, mobile phone displays etc. all started. Who would have thought looking at this display. OK, it was not without issues. Power consumption was high and contrast was an issue. For these reasons this type of display was dropped in favour of the later field effect LCD. However, without this beginning, there would not have been progress and LCD definately would not be where it is today. Case marked EPSA-OPTEL. A piece of history (and really difficult to photograph!).
